Departure at sunset...goodbye Italy!

Pompeii at the foot of Mt. Vesuvious. We spent several hours walking around the city. It was really neat to see corner shops, the hot/cold/steam baths, and I even saw a true Roman home, fully equipped with a shrine for their household gods. That was one of the best parts of the day for me because I wrote a rather lengthy paper on household gods a few years ago for IDS. It is nice when things come full circle in IDS. 

Ahhh...the sunset on the Mediterranean. I wish I was still there.

I don't know if you can tell exactly how small this shower is, but it was ridiculous. And, it flooded like crazy. Oh well, at least we had a shower. This was in Rome.
