Pompeii at the foot of Mt. Vesuvious. We spent several hours walking around the city. It was really neat to see corner shops, the hot/cold/steam baths, and I even saw a true Roman home, fully equipped with a shrine for their household gods. That was one of the best parts of the day for me because I wrote a rather lengthy paper on household gods a few years ago for IDS. It is nice when things come full circle in IDS. Posted by Picasa
